At Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club we take a family first approach to our Junior section. We welcome parents/carers along to join us on the course and try to include our Junior golfers parents/carers as much as possible in all our sessions.
Expect a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our juniors and their family.
We also provide numerous events throughout the year for the whole family.

Quotes from our Junior Section
I've had a really positive year with the junior coaching, building a fantastic core group of juniors who have consistently turned up and shown great enthusiasm and commitment in all the elements.
I've also had the privilege of playing alongside a couple of them in the Pro-Am, which was a real highlight for me.
It's been brilliant to see how much they've improved, developed their confidence and grown as players throughout the year.
- Kyle Humphrey, PGA Professional Staff
Volunteering with the juniors this year has been an absolute joy. We have a wonderful group of kids who turn up with fantastic enthusiasm every single week. From their very first free coaching sessions to playing in their first club events, watching their confidence grow and seeing them develop into passionate young golfers has been the ultimate highlight for me.
- Stuart Hair, Junior Committee Member
Being involved with the junior section this year has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The kids have shown amazing dedication, not only in their weekly coaching sessions and tournaments, but also in supporting our team fundraising challenges. Watching the progression of our junior members has been fantastic. A true highlight for me has been the feedback from parents; hearing that the children are asking to go golfing or wanting golf equipment for Christmas and birthdays really makes all the hard work worthwhile.
One session that really stands out for me was the introduction of our new Rainbow Ladder system. Every junior fully embraced the concept. It was fantastic to see the pride of those who progressed, alongside the determination of those who didn't, who were instantly driven to ensure they passed the following week.
I believe the work we are doing with the juniors at Dumfries & Galloway Golf Club is doing more than just growing the game of golf; it is having a truly positive impact on our community as a whole. By bringing together people of all ages, it gives young children a meaningful activity to look forward to and a fantastic reason to get outside and stay active.
