GALLOWAY CUP AND WALLACE TROPHY
Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club held the re-run of their Open Mixed Greensomes Competition for the Galloway Cup on the 16th of September. There was some rain in the afernoon and the course was playing long but there were still some good scores.
The best score of the day by a good margin was from Louise and Alex Bryden (pictured below).
They won the trophy with 91-21, net 70. They played exceptionally well over the back nine holes, coming back in eleven
fewer shots than their front nine holes. Louise has been playing well lately and this is the third trophy she has won over the past few weeks.
In second place were Aileen and Bob Morrison with 82-10.6, net 71.4. They just pipped Jackie and Richard Irvine who came third with 82-10.4, net 71.6 (on the BIH from Maureen and Gordon McKerrow).
There was only one Magic 2, from Val and Paul Grierson at the 13th hole.
At the prize giving Lady Captain Maureen McKerrow also presented the Wallace Trophy to this year’s recent winners Helen and Alan Kerr (pictured below).
