Played for the first time using my winter membership this morning. After everything the weather has thrown at us in the past few weeks I was very impressed with the course. The greens are very receptive of the ball. Looking forward to more rounds and hopefully taking up full membership in the new season. 🏌️♂️⛳

CLOSING TEXAS SCRAMBLE CANCELLED
Having considered the current weather conditions, along with the continued storm forecast for the Closing Texas Scramble on Sat 13th, the early decision has been taken to cancel the Closing Scramble, and seek an alternative date for this competition
We realise that there are other matches booked for Sat 13th, please check on the status of the course, as the weather conditions may dictate that the course is closed

Thanks to all the volunteers helping with the 24 school kids this morning on the practice area, George, Sandra and AGs Sean well done. Kids completed an hour and a half in miserable conditions and not one of them complained.
Good shift today from the boys lifting all the turf from around the bunkers. A lot of the turf has been kept to be re used. Thanks to our volunteer 75 year old Frank Phinn who put in a great shift this morning despite the weather, the boys really appreciated it. These areas are now marked as Ground Under Repair. ⛳️🏌️♂️

The Greens Team are carrying out aeration work on the Greens, Tees and Surrounds over the next few days with the Air2g2 machine. This is a joint hire with Dumfries and County Golf Club. Excellent to see both clubs working together to get the best results for both clubs. ⛳️🏌️♂️

The Greens Team have received their brand new utility vehicle this morning. The Cushman Truckster from Jacobsen is an essential part of the fleet and is used in all manner of tasks. The Spinning Disc Top dresser and Sprayer can be mounted along with the tipping cargo box for everyday use. ⛳️🏌️♂️ Thanks to Rickerby’s for providing an excellent service 👍🏻.

Twenty four 9 year olds from Laurieknowe school received a one hour "try golf" session on our practice area. They liked it so much they have asked if they can come again next week for a longer period. My thanks to the volunteers who helped out.

We are making a start on our winter projects today. Five bunkers will be fully renovated this winter. These will be the left hand side fairway bunker on 2nd, 2 greenside bunkers on 4th, left hand side fairway bunker on 5th and front right hand side bunker on 16th. Renovation will include reshaping and restyling of these bunkers, with new sand added. We will be removing existing sand and distributing to other bunkers. We are also filling in the 2 fairway bunkers on the right hand side of 2nd. All these bunkers are now marked as Ground Under Repair. Thank you for your patience.
