Dear Member

As part of our ongoing course maintenance we have employed contractors to install drainage pipes on –

  1. The practice area to alleviate flooding on the 17th fairway. The drains will generally run along the line of the trees with hopefully little impact on golfers. The practice area will be out of commission for the duration of the works.
  2. The 16th fairway to take the water into the burn in the trees along the left of 16th. A pipe will be put in the burn from the bottom of the ladies tee running up to the start of the sleepers at the bridge over 9th. This will then be enclosed by the contractors. We have cleared the burn from the sleepers down to the road at the greenkeepers shed to allow the water to flow freely once piped.

Weather dependant the works will commence the week of 29 August 2016 and last for approximately 3 weeks.

Golfers please bear in mind there will be workers and machinery in these areas. There will be an alternative tee for the 16th and possibly the 17th depending on locations of diggers etc . The company will have Stevie Carmichael as clerk of works for the duration of the project supported by Keith McCartney.

We anticipate this will make a significant change to the 16th/17th fairways. If other required works become apparent during the project we will re-assess and inform members.

Any questions or issues please contact a member of the greens team or a committee member.

Your support is very much appreciated.
